Registration Process

Incorporation
Register with URSB or obtain certified copy from equivalent African authority.

Name Reservation
Confirm name availability in Uganda.

Document Preparation
Prepare all 18 required documents with certified translations if needed.

Multiple Recommendations
Obtain recommendations from DNMC, line ministry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and accredited mission.

Fee Payment
Pay registration fee (UGX 260,000) and permit fee (UGX 400,000/year) via URA e-Services.

Application Submission
Submit complete application package to the Bureau.
7
Review & Approval
Bureau conducts comprehensive background verification and presents to NGO Board.
Required Documents
Form A (Uganda-incorporated) or Form N (African incorporation outside EAC) plus Form D, signed by minimum 2 founders
Registration request letter (objectives, area, permit duration max 5 years)
Certified Certificate of Incorporation from URSB or equivalent foreign authority
Annual work plan and budget
Good conduct certificates for signatories or at least 2 board members
Curriculum Vitae of minimum 2 board members
Certified Constitution/Charter/Memorandum with dissolution provisions
Governance structure chart
Proof of fee payment via URA e-Services
Funding source statement
Valid IDs and photos for minimum 2 founders
Board resolution minutes, attendance list, URSB registration authorisation
Staffing compliance statement per NGO Act 2016 Section 45
DNMC recommendation from headquarters district
Line ministry recommendation
Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommendation
Accredited government mission recommendation
Data Protection Office certificate (within one month of permit issuance)
